Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee Chairman John McCain (R-AZ) March 21 introduced a bill to extend the current moratorium on Internet taxes through 2006. The legislation came as the federal Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce (ACEC) struggled unsuccessfully to find a consensus by recommendation to Congress on whether states should be able to tax electronic commerce transactions.
