The problem of functional testing and the degree to which it is adequate during EMC tests has been raised a number of times in EMC Engineering Europe (most recently guest editorial Test Facilities Directory, May 1996). A subset of the instrumentation associated with EMC testing are those equipments designed to control the unit under test or where complex signals are required, generate those signals locally.
