While the construction industry is suffering through one of its toughest years in recent memory because of the coronavirus, you can still find pockets of impressive growth and a number of interesting trophy jobs. In Electrical Marketing's analysis of construction projects that either broke ground or made headlines over the past few weeks, the construction of new data centers or expansion of existing data centers shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. Google recently announced two $600-million expansion projects in Henderson and Reno, NV; Facebook is adding 1.5-million sq-ft to an existing facility in Newton, GA; and Microsoft plans to build two data centers in West Des Moines, IA. Also of note was the news that Rosendin Electric is opening up satellite operations in the Nashville, TN, area to support the work it will be doing on a $800-million Facebook data center in Gallatin, TN, north of Music City.
