The new Dl series/Shunt isolator has been launched by LEM to enable high accuracy current measurements in rail traction applications. Dl Series transducers measure the very small voltages developed across low resistance ohmic shunts in the primary power conductors feeding rail traction motors, spanning ranges of 30-200mVpms The Dl series has specifically been designed to enable rail traction designers to meet the provisional EN 50463 standard for on-board energy monitoring. When used with a shunt Class 0.2 accuracy, the Dl reaches the required Class 1R accuracy.
