Coin-sized, Arduino-compatible computer with Bluetooth LE wirelessly connects to smartphones, tablets

Nordic Semiconductor has announced that wireless start-up Open Source RF has launched on KickStarter.com the world's first Arduino-compatible open-source microcomputer that can communicate wirelessly with any Bluetooth version 4.0 (which includes Bluetooth low energy as a hallmark feature)-compatible smartphone or tablet and is based on the latest RFD51822 module. The module, in turn, is based on the Nordic nRF51822 SoC that was developed by wireless specialist RF Digital.
