Manila 9.5 is a powerful blogging tool. A caveat for inexperienced bloggers: Manila is a powerful blogging tool. I'm no blog expert, but at the same time I consider my tech-tool intuition to be pretty strong and I've used a number of blogging tools, albeit much more basic ones, without a hitch. Perhaps it is because it is targeted squarely at the enterprise market, initial setup of my Manila site was no easy undertaking. (Note that the company also offers Enterprise Manila, which is a lightweight content management system as well.) The setup interface seems like something for "insiders only," and I didn't find it intuitive as I struggled through the process of setting up this feature and enabling that one. If that wasn't difficult enough in itself, like so many blogging and wiki tools on the market, Manila's developers have created their own language for the site, both in the technical and vernacular senses. This means that even if you have used a blogging tool before, you'll at least need to learn some new lingo. I do not mean to give the impression that Manila is impossible to use; once I slogged through the setup (with some IT support) and learned a bit of Manila-ese, I was able to play around with its features and get a site going fairly smoothly.
