The next America

Gregory rodriguez, a Los Angeles-based writer, has a nice story about a crowd of young Latinos getting into a good-natured wrangle with a white drink-seller at a Latin rock concert at Los Angeles Sports Arena. "What are you going to do?", asks one of the Latinos, gesturing at the huge crowd. "Chuck us all out of the country?" There is a growing self-confidence about the new Americans, particularly the young Latino "Generation n". They seem to realise that they have not merely joined a country, but they are going to change it.
