On a leafy hill-top overlooking the northern Nigerian town of Minna stand two splendid back-to-back mansions. They belong to two childhood friends, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsa-lami Abubakar, who, as wealthy generals, ruled Nigeria from 1985 until an election in 1999. They acquired most of their wealth in the years they were in power.
