On may 21st ismm, a private Swiss holding company, was declared bankrupt with estimated debts of SFrl billion ($560111). This week fifa, football's world governing body, requested an investigation into possible fraud by two of ismm's senior executives. The ismm group, the world's biggest sports-marketing organisation, was fifa's partner for the marketing and television rights for fif's World Cup competitions in 2002 and 2006. fifa is unable to quantify the financial loss that it will suffer as a result of ismm's collapse.
