The authors appreciate the discussers' interest in the subject of simulation of floor spectra using shake tables and for the thorough reading of the original paper. The discussers raise an important point regarding the amplification of ground motion in structures at specific elevations. The amplifications are not unique for all structures and systems, and therefore simplifications and generalizations are made, all approximately.
