The Platinum Group Minerals in Alluvial Deposits of the Basin of the Urup and Bol'shaya Laba Rivers (North Caucasus)

Minerals of the platinum group were found in the North Caucasus region within the metallogenic zone of the Peredovoi Ridge, made up of Devonian volcan-ogenic and black shale formations [1, 3, 6, 7]. This area was considered by V.G. Lazarenkov, A.A. Smys-lov, and L.I. Tikhomirov [5] as one of the platinum-bearing provinces of Russia, whose metallogenic specialization is connected with the carboniferous formation. Within the metallogenic zone of the Peredovoi Ridge, the Urup-Laba area is the most ore-rich region (copper ores, noble metals).
