Nourishing San Diego's beaches

This was due to increasing regional development, the water supply, flood control projects, as well as modifications to the coastline that stifle sand movement. As part of its ongoing legislative programme, the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has prioritised "efforts assisting in the implementation of key environmental issues, including habitat conservation, planning, beach restoration and replenishment, and water quality-related issues". And beach nourishment is emphasized in the planning framework.
