摘要

In the so-called "dual phase" between 1870 and 1914, the port of Rijeka witnessed an outstanding expansion that was the result of an ambitious project to create a new, great maritime port for the Kingdom of Hungary. Guido Zucconi has conducted careful archive research and reconstructs the changes that linked the development of the port to the birth and consolidation of a new maritime district.
