Milan is being primed for the World Expo. In other words, the exhausting, highly Italian game of musical chairs for executives and their henchmen has begun, anticipating the importance of the event in official, unofficial and clandestine ways. Framing the picture are construction sites, proclamations, deadlines and new apexes (some crooked or buckling under their own weight) that are meant to redesign the skyline and turn it into something the city has never had or even aspired to.
