Chissà se l'avrebbe mai immaginato, Le Corbusier, che la cité radieuse un giorno sarebbe diventata, sì, una realtà (e, fin qui, il grande svizzero sembrava non avere dubbi), ma una realtà piuttosto diversa da quella da lui pensata, e in parte sperimentata, con le sue unités sparse per l'Europa. La citta del sole, l'utopia realizzata, che qui proponiamo è del tutto estranea a uno stile architettonico, o a un design, prestabilito; è piuttosto un insieme composito ed eterogeneo di approcci stilistici, tecnologici, funzionali; è un innesto, un rampicante, una forma aliena che sembra provenire dal futuro; è le rayon vert, che si impossessa delle cose (non di tutte, però) e le trasforma dall'interno, rendendole porose come spugne e pronte a catturare ogni particella di luce e di energia che capiti loro a tiro.%Who knows if Le Corbusier would ever have thought that the cite radieuse would, yes, one day become a reality (up to this point, the Swiss master didn't seem to have any doubts...) but one rather different from how he had imagined, and partly experimented by means of unites here and there around Europe. The city of sun, the built utopia, that we present here is wholly extraneous from a preconceived kind of architecture or design; rather, it is a composite and heterogeneous overview of stylistic, technological and functional approaches; a graft, a creeping vine, an alien entity from the future.
