'Another such victory and we are undone' - these are said to be the words of Greek King Pyrrhus of Epirus after defeating, twice, the Roman armies.1 These victories came at great human costs for the King's armies while the Romans turned to their unlimited reserves of soldiers. Our globalized world can learn from the wisdom of King Pyrrhus. We can collectively recognize that the proliferation of misguided national policies and strategies to gain competitiveness in global markets will undo not only the Greeks of today but also the Germans.
