We are not quite sure how such things came to pass, but the May issue saw us add two significant errors into your read, we would like to apologise most sincerely. Every effort is made each month to provide a fact-filled magazine that is accurate, and in Tail Lamp we endeavour to correct any errors that do come to light In 'Trains of Thought' it was stated that the Southern Railway did not name a 'King Arthur' class 4-6-0 'Morgan le Fay', who was King Arthur's sister, and the managing editor realized this error soon after, as initially he was only studying the engines in the 30448 to 30457 number series, which included No 30453 'Sir Lamorak', the subject of the main article. In fact, although No 30750 Morgan le Fay was built in 1922, none of these 'NI5s' were named until 1924, the 304XX series being named after the Knights of the Round Table, whereas the earlier 'NI5s', from 1924, carried the names of knights, etc, and places connected with them. On seeing the error, an updated version was written but then the earlier version was submitted in error. A wrap on the knuckles is in order, Sorry!
