The objective of this research is to find common characteristicsbetween hotels that apply energy efficiencyand renewable energy measures in the hotel zoneof Miramar beach in Tamaulipas. The data was obtainedthrough a poll to hotels in the region studied. Theanalysis is conducted with the Qualitative ComparativeAnalysis (QCA) technique, considering different variables,such as the number of stars and the room rates.Results show that hotels with 4 or 5 stars are characterizedby implementing more procedures aimed toachieve energy efficiency. Meanwhile, hotels with lowstars are characterized by being very heterogeneous inadopting those policies.
