Below isa brief summary of the research that Dr Chrou- sos accomplished with a talented group of colleagues and young researchers over the past 35 years. He has concen- trated most of his research efforts in the understanding of the stress system and the diseases it is associated with. He started his research with the molecular elucidation, diag- nosis, and treatment of the primary glucocorticoid resis- tance syndrome in man and described the “pan-steroid” resistance of nonhuman New World primates.
