The aim of the work is to study approaches to the development and implementation of professionalstandards in order to improve the adaptability of human resources to the Industry 4.0. e articleexamines the possibilities and problems of qualitative modernization of vocational education basedon formation of the national system of qualifications with the use of professional standards. emethodology of development of professional standards is investigated, and recommendations onimprovement of this process with the use of competence-based approach are given. e maindirections of policy at the macro and micro levels for the development of professional standards thatmeet the requirements of the labor market of the new industry are determined.
