The use of video during sports competitionsthat are acquired with a PTZ camera (Pan - Tilt -Zoom) for tracking and identification of the playersare operated and experienced in various applications.This remains a difficult challenge and presents a largearea of the investigation. The system has the ability todetect and track multiple players, estimate thehomography between successive frames of a videosequence and the playground and identify the actors inthe scene. The homography estimation is solved byusing a variant of the ICP algorithm. The results ofthese operations applied machine vision in the field ofthe analysis of the sport opened immense possibilitiesof applications and mixed reality and increased in thebenefit of sports events shown on television.
