Allozyme variation of Macoma baltica (L.) in the Bothnian Sea

Macoma baltica from three locations in the northern part of the Bothnian Sea has been examined for genetic variation at enzyme loci. Of 13 identified loci 9 were found to be polymorphic. A highly significant heterogeneity was found for the ODH locus, whereas the other loci showed no differences among the locations. The electrophoretic expressions of the loci are described.
