Chronic refractory idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (CR-ITP) in children poses challenges to paediatric haematologists, as treatment is not only expensive but also has myriad of adverse events. Dapsone is an inexpensive and efficacious, yet neglected therapeutic op- tion for treatment of CR-ITP.
