Developing an information model for an enterprise : a South African case study

摘要

Information models help enterprises to deal with aspects such as information overload and allow increasing volumes of information to be disseminated, digested and managed effectively. The model enables an enterprise to understand how information is used and by whom, it pinpoints the key stakeholder for various information types and it helps to focus on areas where the highest potential or most opportunities exist. The establishment of an information model is illustrated through a case study within a large conglomeration of companies.
