Projeto de cidade digital estratégica como política pública: o caso de Chicago, EUA

摘要

Digital city projects can be considered as public policy with different approaches to public administration when they formalize strategies in cities as a premise to strengthen public management processes, citizenship and the development potential of society in general, through planning, structuring, saving and making available information and public services. The objective is to analyze the Chicago - USA strategic digital city project as a public policy and to contextualize it in the face of initiatives that take place in the Brazilian federal, state and municipal spheres. The research methodology emphasizes a case study constructed on the basis of qualitative information and analysis. The results indicate that Chicago has developed a strategic technological project as a public policy and that, conceptually, there is an approximation of the intentionalities expressed in Brazilian public policies. The conclusion reiterates the importance of adopting strategies in cities as a basis for designing comprehensive technological projects to increase the effectiveness of public management, increase social participation and citizens’ quality life and contribute to municipal public policy.
