THERMAL COMFORT IN BROILER BUILDINGS WITH ASBESTOS TILES AND ITS ASSOCIATIONS

The experiment using reduced models of broiler buildings with asbestos tiles and its associations (lining of polyethylene, water sprinkling over the roof, double aluminum foil under the covering, white painting on the roof, polyurethane foam over the roof, polyurethane foam under the covering and standard asbestos tiles), had the objective of studying the thermal comfort in the buildings, based on the Black Globe Humidity Index (BGHI) and Radiant Heat Load (RHL), obtained at animal level, every 2 hours, from 8 a.m. to 6 p. m., with 15 repetitions por treatment, during the summer. Each treatment enabled reduction of the values of BGHI and the best results were obtained by water sprinkling over the roof and lining of polyethylene. For values of RHL, the best results were for the treatments of the lining of polyethylene followed by sprinkling over the roof. The treatment of polyurethane foam under the roof was found to be least effective.
