Effects of training and facilitation of farmers in Uganda on livestock development

Developmenteffortsinlowerincomecountriesgenerallyaimtoimprovetheincomeandnutritionofruralfarminghouseholds.Frequentlydevelopmentprogramstrainfarmersandgivethemlivestocksothatthosefarmersinturntrainotherfarmersandpassonthelivestockintheformofoffspring.Thepaperexaminestheeffectsoftrainingandfacilitationoffarmersonlivestockdevelopmentbydiscussingthedifferencesinperformanceindicatorsofthreefarmergroups.Thefirstgroupreceivedtrainingandsupportfromadevelopmentprogram,thesecondgroupreceivedlesstrainingandsupportfromtheprogramandthethirdgroupdidnotreceivetrainingorsupport.nbsp;Resultsshowthatinsomewaystrainingandfacilitationisofadvantagetothefarmers,butsometimesotherfactorssuchasthefarmers#8217;resourcesarelimitingtothefarmers#8217;progress.
