:Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint massage on Zanzhu(BL 2), liver and gallbladder meridians in treatment of early stage of peripheral facial paralysis. Methods 〓Totally 120 patients with early stage of peripheral facial paralysis were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 60 cases in each group. All patients received routine acupuncture treatment and nursing interventions based on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing protocols. The acupoint massage on Zanzhu(BL 2), liver and gallbladder meridians was performed in the treatment group. The curative effect of interventions, anxiety status and sleep quality of patients were evaluated. Results 〓The overall effective rate of intervention was 95.00%(57/60)in the treatment group and 90.00%(54/60)in the control group, with no significant difference(P0.05). The scores of Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index were decreased in both two groups after intervention, and were lower in the treatment group than those in the control group(P0.01). Conclusion 〓The acupoint massage on Zanzhu(BL 2), liver and gallbladder meridians is potential effective in treatment of peripheral facial paralysis, relieve the anxiety status and improve the sleep quality of patients.
