:Objective To investigate the application efficacy of the traceability system in integrated management of operating room and central sterile supply department. Methods 〓The manual traceability method was used in the management of surgical instruments between March 2015 and June 2016, and totally 44 968 sterilization packages with 480 894 pieces of surgical instruments were included as the control group. The electronic traceability system was used in management of surgical instruments between July 2016 and March 2018, and 135 177 sterilization packages with 1034 902 pieces of surgical instruments were included as the observation group. Results The rate of unqualified cleaning dropped from 6.84% in the control group to 1.26% in the observation group(P0.05). The rate of lost surgical instruments dropped from 0.68% in the control group to 0.02% in the observation group(P0.05). There was an increased nursing satisfaction among surgeons and nurses after implementation of electronic traceability system(96.92% vs. 83.08%, P0.05). Conclusion 〓Under the integrated management model of operating room and central sterile supply department, the electronic traceability system is effective to improve the disinfection and sterilization quality of surgical instruments and ensure the safety of operation.
