:Objective To investigate the application efficacy of “trinity” hierarchical management in improvement of core competency of specialized oncology nurses. Methods 〓On the basis of post-setting for the specialized oncology nurse, a “trinity” hierarchical management consisting of core competency, training content and assessment criteria was build up for the nursing training and assessment. A total of 106 specialized oncology nurses with different hierarchical levels were divided into the intervention group and the control group, with 53 cases in each group. The control group received routine management, and those in the intervention group were given the “trinity” hierarchical management. The assessment outcome of core competency was compared between two groups. Results 〓Specialized oncology nurses with different hierarchical levels in the intervention group achieved higher scores of core competency assessment compared with those in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion 〓The application of "trinity" hierarchical management is potential effective to improve the core competency of specialized oncology nurses, therefore improve the nursing quality in the oncology clinic.
