Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of nursing interventions based on a “pithy formula” method in prevention of medical adhesive related skin injury(MARSI)in newborns. Methods 〓Totally 80 newborns using medical adhesive products were included as the control group between January, 2017 and June, 2017. Another 80 newborns were recruited as the observation group between July, 2017 and December, 2017. Both two groups received routine care during treatment, and nursing interventions based on a “pithy formula” method were carried out in the observation group. The awareness of 14 nurses on MARSI prevention was evaluated by the self-made questionnaire, and the incidence of MARSI was compared between two groups. Results Nurses achieved higher scores of in assessment of MARSI knowledge and prevention after implementation of the “pithy formula” method(P0.05). The incidence of MARSI was 3.75%(3/80)in the observation group and was 13.75%(11/80)in the control group, with a significant different(P0.05). Conclusion 〓Nursing interventions based on a “pithy formula” method can improve the awareness and knowledge level of nurses on MARSI, and reduce the incidence of MARSI in newborns.
