Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of “Six Heart” nursing model on quality of life in cancer patients with radiotherapy, and to compare the difference between hospitalized patients and those with home-based treatment. Methods 〓The questionnaire based investigation was conducted to 80 hospitalized cancer patients and to 80 patients with home-based treatment respectively. The main outcome included activities of daily living, physiological function, psychological states, symptom, situational factors and self-assessment on health. Results 〓Patients with home-based treatment achieved a better outcome in assessment of quality of life questionnaire compared with those hospitalized patients(P0.05). Patients with home-based treatment achieved a higher score of activities of daily living, physiological function and psychological states compared with hospitalized patients(P0.05). Conclusion 〓More efforts should be paid on application of “Six Heart” nursing model for hospitalized cancer patients with radiotherapy.
