:Objective To investigate the effect of acupuncture and embedding of thumb-tack needle on relieving nausea and vomiting in patients with postoperative chemotherapy for colorectal cancer. Methods 〓Totally 100 patients who received FOLFOX4 regimen(5 fluorouracil, calcium folinate and oxaliplatin)for colorectal cancer were divided into observation group and control group according to the sequence of chemotherapy, 50 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were treated with tropisetron hydrochloride, and the patients in the observation group were given acupuncture and embedding of thumb-tack needle on the basis of routine treatment. The nausea and vomiting symptoms self-rating list was used to evaluate the intervention efficacy. The adverse reactions caused by acupuncture and embedding of thumb-tack needle were recorded. Results 〓The symptoms self-rating score was lower in the observation group than that in the control group at day 1, 4, 8 and the end of first course of chemotherapy, respectively(P0.05). There was no case of skin damage, swelling at puncture site, broken needle or fainting during acupuncture reported in the observation group. Conclusion 〓The combined treatment of acupuncture and embedding of thumb-tack needle can significantly relieve nausea and vomiting in patients with postoperative chemotherapy for colorectal cancer.
