Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint application of Evodia combined with field effect physical therapy in improve the postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdominal operations. Methods 〓Totally 70 patients with abdominal operations were assigned to the control group(n=35)and the control group(n=35). Patients of both two groups received postoperative fasting, gastrointestinal decompression and other treatments. The acupoint application of Evodia combined with field effect physical therapy was carried out in the observation group additionally. The time of bowel sounds return and intestinal exhaust were observed and compared between two groups. Results 〓Patients in the observation group had a earlier time of bowel sounds return compared with those in the control group(［5.29±3.32］h vs. ［8.16±5.33］)h, P0.05). Patients in the observation group had a earlier time of intestinal exhaust compared with those in the control group(［12.88±5.30］ h vs. ［17.16±8.58］ h, P0.05). Conclusion 〓Acupoint application of Evodia combined with field effect physical therapy is potentially effective to improve the postoperative recovery of gastrointestinal function after abdominal operations.
