A note on the uptake of sodium by the tomato plant in water-cultures

Abstract In water-culture work on tomatoes, a high level of sodium in the culture solution resulted in a high content of sodium in the leaves. An increase in sodium uptake was accompanied by a decrease in the potassium content of the leaves, but had little effect on that of the fruit.
