Abstract:In this study, a total of 246 cancer patients with drug extravasation during chemotherapy were given local block treatment. Localized swelling and pain were observed in 54 patients and relieved by cold compress for three days. A total of 12 patients with poor healing of skin wound were observed with scar formation a month after. The main reasons for chemotherapeutic drug extravasation included “less health education before chemothearpy”, “inadequate communication between nurse and doctor”, “drug issues”, “inappropriate venipuncture site” and “misoperation”. The local block treatment, infrared or ultra short lazer radiation, local external application should be carried out for patients with drug extravasation during chemotherapy, and standardization should be concerned during nursing operation.
