Abstract:Objective To reform the teaching method based on teaching quality evaluation index system (“YuanPan rating scale”), and to evaluate its efficacy on students' innovation ability. Methods A total of 141 undergraduate nursing students were randomly divided into the control group (n=71) and the study group (n=70). The control group was performed with conventional teaching method and the study group was applied with the reformed teaching method based on “YuanPan rating scale”. The innovation ability and degree of knowledge control of students, as well as evaluation on teaching staffs were compared between two groups. Results The study group reached a higher proportion of students ranking excellent and good evaluation on teaching staffs compared with the control group (P<0.01). Scores of assessment on knowledge control and innovation ability were higher in the study group than those in the control (P<0.01). Conclusion “YuanPan evaluation scale” has a specific entry to cultivate students' innovative ability, so that the teaching goal of cultivating students with innovative ability can be guaranteed.
