The column first ran in January of 2007. From the vantage ofJuly 2009, the editor, authors and sponsors would like to reflecton the past, acknowledge the present and speculate aboutthe future. We envisioned the column as a vehicle to shareresources and knowledge to help all practitioners care for theoften complicated and challenging older adult population. Theformat developed as a case-based discussion on clinically relevanttopic areas in geriatrics care, accompanied by a variety ofscholarly resources and web-based tools.
