DOMAIN MODEL OF AN AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION SYSTEM BASED ON STANDARDS

To better manage data in agriculture, governmentalservices implement geoinformation systems. These systemsmay be used as an aid to calculation of subsidies, serve asmeans of control and as support in decision making whilefollowing the latest technologies and standards. One of theoldest policies of the EU, the Common Agricultural Policy,implements a system for agricultural subsidies along withan information system to aid in enforcing it. This paperprovides one design for an exhaustive geoinformation systemin the Republic of Serbia and verification of the mentionedsystem with test data. The system must fulfil requirementsand standards as one of the conditions for accessing theEU. These needs are met by extending the current Serbianframework while conforming to directives and standardssuch as INSPIRE, ISO/LADM and LPIS. A suggestion isshown in the paper for using this system in communicatingand presenting relevant data to the farmers through ageoportal Web application which also serves as a way ofverifying the system.
