For the distribution of classical non-interacting particles we use MaxwellBoltzmann’s statistics. However, this statistics is not workable for classical interactingparticles (galaxies). We attempt to modify the Maxwell-Boltzmann’s statistics by incorporatinggravitational interaction term in it. The number of ways in which N-particles can have pairinteraction due to gravitational interaction is obtained. With the help of entropy maximizationwe derive the analytical expression for occupation number. Using the modified statistics weobtain the general expressions for different thermodynamical quantities and attempt to derivegeneral distribution function for gravitating particles (galaxies).
