摘要

Introduction The executive functions can be conceptualized from neuropsychological studies, from aspects related to the functionality of the subject in the development of tasks. Objective to determine the relationship between attention processes and executive functions in higher education students. Materials and methods The research was developed in a sample of 42 students of the second level of the school of Psychology, of the Technical University of Manabí, of Ecuador. The type of research used was of a non-experimental nature, of a quantitative, descriptive and correlational nature. Results refer that there is a negative correlation coefficient between the attentional processes and the executive functions. Discussion in a more detailed analysis of the sample reveals that males achieve higher scores. Conclusions the existence of a relationship between the attentional processes and the executive functions in the study sample corresponding to the students of the second level of Psychology of the Technical University of Manabí.
