The redetermination of the crystal structure of calcium octa-ammine chloride, or octa-amminecalcium dichloride, [Ca(NH3)8]Cl2, based on synchrotron X-ray diffraction powder data, revealed a more reasonable model in terms of N?N distances in comparison with the previous model [Westman?et al.?(1981).?Acta Chem. Scand. Ser. A,?35, 467–472].
