The coordination environment of the ZnII?atom in the title complex, [ZnCl2(C17H11N3)], is distorted tetra-hedral. The NAD+/NADH-analogous ligand is twisted and chelates through one pyridine N atom and one N atom of the benzonaphthyridine ring system. In the crystal, mol-ecules are stacked along the?a?axis and are held together through?π–π?inter-actions.
