Application of a Natural Inhibitor for Corrosion Inhibition of J55 Steel in CO₂ Saturated 3.5% NaCl Solution

The inhibition behavior of Momordica charantia seeds extract (MCSE) as an environmental benigncorrosion inhibitor for J55 steel was investigated in 3.5 wt.% NaCl saturated with CO2 solution bymeans of polarization curve, AC impedance and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed thatMCSE can inhibit the corrosion of J55 steel. The maximum inhibition efficiency is achieved whenMCSE concentration is 1000 ppm by weight in this study. The adsorption of the studied inhibitorobeyed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm.
