Decision making and business performance

摘要

Decisions are the building blocks of any business enterprise. Employees take thousands of decisions at every stage in the life of an organisation. It is decisions that bring an organisa- tion into existence, make it functional and are also responsi- ble for its subsequent demise. Every decision has a consequence; the business organisation itself is an outcome of the very first decision taken by the entrepreneur, which is—whether or not to launch the enterprise. The fact that an organisation exists is because someone took a conscious decision to establish it. The outcomes of the decision making process provide a basis for judging the quality of the decision made and the effectiveness of its implementation.
