Compactandefficientgreenlasersareofhighinteresttoconsumerelectronicsapplicationssuchashandheldandpocketprojectors.Sincedirectgreenlasersourcesarenotavailable,anumberofsecond-harmonic-basedapproacheshavebeenproposedrecently.However,challengesinlow-efficiencyandhigh-coststructurehavenotbeensuccessfullyovercomeyet.Wedemonstrateanovelgreenlasersourcebasedonthemonolithiccavitymicrochiplaserplatform.Theuseofourhighlyefficient,periodicallypoledMgO-dopedLithiumNiobateasthefrequencydoublerallowsobtainingsignificantincreaseintheoverallefficiencyofthegreenmicrochiplaser.Specifically,wedemonstrate200mWgreenoutputwith10%wall-plugefficiencyinthe35°Ctemperaturerange.
