Testing through the ultrasonic waves is one of the mostimportant non-destructive methods for evaluating thecompressive strength of the concrete. The result of this testis based on the velocity of ultrasonic waves through theconcrete.This study examines the effect of moisture on thevelocity of ultrasonic waves and compressive strength ofconcrete. The ultrasound equipment used in this studyshows that non-destructive ultrasonic waves generated byportable devices Pundit with a range of 500 V and waves 54KHz. The required time for signal transmission among thetransducers was calculated as a parameter forevaluating thesignal speed.The results of the analysis show that moisturehas the signif icant effect on the velocity of ultrasonic wavesand compressive strength of concrete. By placing theconcrete samples in water and raising the content ofmoisture, the speed of ultrasonic waves is enhanced but thecompressive strength of samples is reduced. With highmoisture content, the velocity of ultrasonic waves andcompressivestrengthare found to be inverselyrelated.
