The Consumer Survey of New Serial Titles was prepared by Dr. A. Frederick Kuhlman, Director Emeritus of the Joint University Libraries, for the Joint Committee on the Union List of Serials, Inc., to determine the effectiveness of New Serial Titles as a bibliographical tool and as a location record. It was financed by the Council on Library Resources, Inc., and prepared during a period of approximately twelve months beginning in August 1966. The comprehensive study is based on questionnaires and interviews. Copies of the survey have been mailed to all libraries and agencies that subscribe to/ or participate in and contribute to New Serial Titles and to accredited graduate library schools.
