摘要

Bio-Based and Applied Economics, the ofcial journal of AIEAA (Associazione Italiana di Economia Agraria ed Applicata), was founded in 2011 and published the frst issueat the beginning of 2012. BAE is now a well-established international journal, currentlyindexed in several scientifc databases, including ISI-Web of Science and Scopus. Its citation performances have been ever growing and are expected to grow further during thenext years. Years from 2012 to 2019 have been characterised by major changes in the profession and in the editorial practices. Te choice to give the journal a thematic focus onone of most innovative aspects of the profession (the emerging Bioeconomy), as well asencouraging contribution from all the most traditional areas, has been a distinguishingappreciated choice. Several other new topics have meanwhile emerged in the economic literature, such as ecosystem services, climate change, digitalisation and the circular economy, accompanied by new approaches to study complex human, frms and markets behaviour. Te academic context has changed even more dramatically. Publishing has becomemore competitive and provides continuous stimuli to operate in new and more e?ectiveways. Te Open access approach (chosen by BAE since the beginning) is becoming thenew normal for publications; authors are expecting quick reactions and timely decisions;linkages with social media and di?usion of the papers published has become a key strategic feature.
