摘要

This special issue of the Desalination and Water Treatment Journal contains selected papers presented during the third International Conference on Environmental Management, Engineering, Planning and Economics (CEMEPE 2011) & SECOTOX Conference, which was held on the Hellenic island of Skiathos during 19-24 June 2011. The conference was organized by the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly, the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and the International Society of Ecotoxi-cology and Environmental Safety. An international board of valued scientists comprised its scientific committee.
